KAAT was born following a business trip to India in the Rajastan region where two architect friends drew inspiration by visiting fascinating places and immersing themselves in the discovery of raw materials such as stones and wood and in the subsequent craftsmanship carried out manually and with limited means by families poor of local artisans.
Hence the idea of KAAT which means cutting - incision - juxtaposition and union between different materials . From that journey and from that work experience the path evolved, leading the Sicilian architects Michele Cucchiara and Andrea Liguori to bet on their territory of origin "Sicily" and on Made in Italy which is still represented today by the skill of the artisan workers that even today the skilful art of processing raw materials, unique and rare in terms of beauty and characteristics, has been handed down from generation to generation.
Here is the development of a design project with collections that involve Arts and Crafts nowadays .
The families of the " Marble Workers" who have worked for centuries in the manufacturing of the inlaid coverings of Baroque Sicily , the families of the Silversmiths who have forged and embellished the churches and altars of the countless ecclesiastical orders and the Cabinet Makers who still today hand down the art of profession from generation to generation.
Portoro Marble as the choice of a collection linked to the value and richness of an elegant and refined raw material as well as precious and unparalleled.
The bond that emerged with Alessandro Biggi and his family originally from Portovenere where the only Portoro quarry is located, has generated a bond and a winning collaboration that wants to approach the world of luxury by producing limited and unique collections marked by a unique style Italian .
